21. A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow

Lila’s [unplanned] adventure across the pond really resonated with me. She came from Miami with such a close knit, future decided for her since childhood. But after a few back to back losses, her family sent her to the UK to stay with a longtime family friend to get some distance from life in Miami. While getting used to summer in England, Lila meets a group of people that without knowing, help her find peace and happiness within herself, that in turn gives her the push to break the family expectation and live life to her own potential, ultimately making those that matter most, proud of her! I loved this quick, light read. It was the perfect happy story that allowed me to smile and laugh at all the sayings and nostalgia. I was hoping for the ending and could not have been happier with how everything played out, and how much all the characters grew between the pages!
